Janine Dieudji

Janine is a curator who conceives and stages initiatives that engage artists, institutions, and communities fostering enduring connections across the cultural landscape.

She was formerly Director of Exhibitions at MACAAL in Marrakech and co-founded The Recovery Plan, a Florence-based platform for cross-cultural research, dialogues and critical thinking.

In 2023, she joined the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington, DC.

Janine also served as a juror for awards and residencies such as the Norval Sovereign African Art Prize, the Civitella Ranieri Fellowship and the Atlantic Fellows for Racial Equity.

She has contributed to Phaidon’s African Artists: From 1882 to Now and Vitamin C+: Collage in Contemporary Art among other publications and artists monographs.
