Option Dzikamai Nyahunzvi

Option Dzikamai Nyahunzvi (b.1992, Zimbabwe)
Option Dzikamai Nyahunzvi, born in Harare in 1992 and raised in Rusape, began sketching at an early age. He is known for his versatility, combining printmaking and painting techniques. He graduated with a Certificate in Visual Arts and Design awarded by Harare Polytechnic College in association with the National Gallery School of Visual Arts and Design in 2015. That same year, he won first prize in Graphics for his work “Homeless Migrants” at Gallery Delta in Harare.
Option has participated in several solo and group exhibitions and art fairs internationally, including his recent solo exhibitions at Wunika Mukan Gallery (Lagos, Nigeria) in 2022 and Unit London Gallery (UK) in 2021. He has also exhibited at major art events like the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair (New York, 2023), Art on Paper (Amsterdam, 2023), and the Tropen Museum (Amsterdam, 2021).
His residency experiences include the Africa 1:1 artist’s residency project in Venice (2023), a cultural exchange residency at the Yawoa Foundation (Lagos, Nigeria, 2022), and Nafasi Art Space (Tanzania, 2019), among others.
Option is a 2026 recipient of the Tyburn Foundation Affiliated Fellowship at Civitella Ranieri.
